In Q3 2023, the top 5 navigation and maps apps on iOS in the United States demonstrated varying trends in downloads, active users, and revenue. Here’s a closer look at their performance, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Google Maps saw a consistent number of weekly downloads, starting at around 419K in late June and slightly dipping to approximately 371K by the end of September. The app maintained a high number of active users, fluctuating between 25.8M and 25.1M throughout the quarter.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a gradual decline in weekly downloads, beginning at 184K in late June and decreasing to about 144K by the end of September. Active users also showed a slight decrease, from 8.6M to around 8.2M during the same period.

Google Earth had relatively stable weekly downloads, averaging around 100K. However, the number of active users decreased from approximately 793K in late June to around 673K by the end of September.

Active users showed slight fluctuations, with numbers ranging from 33K in late June to around 31K by the end of September. The app’s weekly revenue saw a significant increase, starting at $5.9K in late June and rising to approximately $11.9K by the end of the quarter.
